Well, it's been awhile since I've last posted here.

To catch up with what has been going on and what has been done...
December 11th 2010, we attended AutoCon LA in semi-full forced, showing 14 vehicles and the bag-less air suspension or as you may know it as The Phantom Cup Kit Suspension.

We took home largest Team attendance, Jerry took home Best Nissan with his RHD R32 Skyline, and Patrick took best JDM.

Fast foward, we hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Christmas and New Years.

Last Saturday, we attended ISG's private track day at Willow Springs.

Hugh's Widebody, Kennedy's Aristo, Davis's Porsche, Mark's MR2, Seibon's R35 GTR, and 3T's vehicles ripping it on the horse shoe was an event you didn't want to miss. As always, Sean was smashing it on the track; from the widebody Aristo to a EG hatch, watching Sean run the track was exciting.

Brooklyn Projects + Rides + Spocom = Great Team Support!

Havent posted in a long time! So a couple saturdays ago, we were invited to display our cars at Brooklyn Projects in Pasadena for their grand opening in conjunction with Envy Expo. We brought out Kennedy's LS460 and David's Q45.

Brooklyn Projects was packed with customers... If you're into Nikes, skateboarding, and awesome T-shirts, check them out!

Last Wednesday, Rides Magazine came to the shop to shoot our cars. Javy, Brian, Bonnie, Kennedy, and myself stayed up for a few nights to freshen up the shop a bit for the shoot but the photographers neglected to shoot inside but all I have to say was it was a bad day to shoot since it was way to hot! Approximately 105 degrees, but nonetheless it was a really good shoot. Keep an eye out for Rides September Issue. We will be here everyday for autographs... LOL JK!

On Saturday, we had to drive our cars to Long Beach for SpoCom Super Show's roll in. As we were driving on the 405, we encountered a dead tire in the fast lane. PJ swerved and missed it while David just barely tapped it, then everyone started to brake hard, Javy slammed on his brakes to avoid damaging his GS. Doing so, his brakes locked up and he spun out 360 on the freeway. While spinning out, he missed hitting the curb by 2 inches and avoided getting t-boned by a truck by 6 inches. Luckily nothing happened to Javy and his car! no more than 1 week of him getting back into shows, something like this happens. Being the trooper he is, we continued to the convention center.

Upon arriving at the check in spot, we had to wait for Hiep and Thi to burn more than a quarter tank of gas since we werent allowed to have more than 1/4 of gas. Blistering sun beating on us, we were finally allowed inside. On Sunday it was show day... Brian and I came early to detail the cars but we werent allowed in until 10AM :(
We then met up with David and Tue who havent slept that night since they were finishing up the audio install on the Wagon. 11 o'clock hit and show was open! Overall it was a good show, even though we didnt bring any trophies back. It was a good show regardless since Dean drove down from Sacramento, we had great team effort and support, great parking area, beautiful models and a lot of followers.

This past week, we finished installing the Phantom Cup Kit on ClubLexus member E.J.'s Lexus IS250. This is the first IS250 that is rocking the Phantom Cup Kit Suspension that should only be on the fronts, but Kennedy took the extra step to custom fabricate the rear so EJ could have a full system. so what can we do? we gave his E61 535xi Wagon a sick over haul! in conjunction with Dave's wagon, Hiep's E60 545i gotta be sick too!

So it comes down to the last 4 days before the roll out, we pulled all nighters to accomplish your deadline. Kennedy was painting back to back for those days while everyone else was doing the other mods.

Finally we get the cars ready late Friday Afternoon as we prepared for our trip to Sin City!

While out in Vegas we were breaking necks left and right!

Another wheel company not holding quality

so another one of our customer comes in for us to repair his wheel... he spent $4000 for Work Gnosis, the wheel is bent from the outside but not on just one wheel, on all the wheels. So he's ditching these "JDM" wheels and getting true FORGED wheels... VIP Modulars.

I'll have the Wekfest voyage post up in a few days, finals is right around the corner for me, next week... blaaaahhhhh!!!

The Voyage to Wekfest : 2010

There were so many signs telling us not to go to Wekfest... but we did anyways. I'm sharing with you guys the voyage up north... read about our trip here!

The Beginning, Wekfest Preparation.

2 Weeks prior to Wekfest, one day, Kennedy wakes up and can't get out of bed. His Ankles and Wrists gave out on him.. We thought he'd get better after a day of recovering, but things did not get better. Kennedy couldn't back out of the show so he had to do whatever it took to get all 13 cars ready for Wekfest... How'd he do this you ask? Chris took him to the doctor, who injected him with a cortisone shot so he could use his hands and walk. $600 went down the drain to get the shots so he could work on the cars, even though the doctor advised against it because if he broke anything, he would not be able to feel it. Kennedy took the shots anyways, which allowed him to walk (or at least limp) and have some use of his wrists for painting.

Also, David's towing vehicle (supposed to tow Hugh's Widebody GS) had a mysterious problem.... its drive shaft fell off, and the rear end cracked!! So we were out one tow vehicle, and had to start looking into other options.

The Journey to the North
So originally the plan was to leave from Platinum VIP at 1PM to head to San Francisco. Guess what time we left the shop? A bit before 1PM right? ....Nope, we ended up leaving the shop at 8:30PM. Why? I'll tell you why!

So a a week before everyone was working feverishly on getting the cars prepared for Wekfest. We stopped working on the collision cars in order to make time to complete all the show cars before the deadline.Thursday night when I left the shop, everyone kept working, and ended up pulling an all nighter.... so Friday rolls around, and I tell them I'm going to be a bit late to the shop, and I arrive a bit after 1PM.... and guess what? Everyone is still working on the cars, putting finishing touches and fixing some last minute issues. All the cars were supposed to show up before 1PM, but only Davis, Jay, and PJ were there and ready to roll out. People started showing up later though. This is when problems started hitting harder. Roger's 300C was getting his tires mounted at another shop, and the shop made a big ouch. While mounting the wheel, they bent it!! So Roger had to drop out from the show. He wasn't the only one that ended up dropping out of the show though. The other twin Q45, David's twin, also dropped out... his reasoning was that he got the wrong tire size, so he didn't want to show. David's Q45 also had a weird problem. An electrical gremlin caused his speedometer to take a crap on him, and none of his cars' sensors were working.
... Then came the big OH SHIT!!! Moment. Kennedy had to move the RV to the front of the shop so that he could air up the tires. In the process of doing so, one of the RAREST occurrences happened.... he backed the RV into a sign D'OH!!! *facepalm* Minor damages to the RV though, thankfully. Henry's GS then starts experiencing a weird glitch, and his check engine light goes off. Apparently the throttle body took a shit on him, and he couldn't go over 10MPH. Luckily a new one was easily found and replaced the following day, which set him back about $1,000.

Finally the trip up north starts, at 8:30PM Friday night.... 7 Hours and a half behind schedule, but nevertheless it's happening! We're all prepared for the trip, with lots of tools also, in case anything happens. Everything should be good right? Not really... One hour into the drive, Davis' GS gets a flat tire.... he didn't have a spare too, so he ended up calling AAA and getting a tow. He was so frustrated he ended up dropping out of the show and towing the car back to Platinum VIP. After this incident the caravan resumes and continues the trek up North..... but halfway up, another problem appears... The trailer Kennedy's using for his Aristo cracks, and causes huge damage to the front bumper, cracking it everywhere. Face's Mercedes CL also gets damaged, its windshield cracks, and sets him back $1000 for a new rain sensor windshield. After these incidents, the drive up North is all safe, and no problems arise, thankfully.

Nothing actually happened too bad on Saturday before the show. Chris got a ticket because he was running Platinum plates though.... first ticket in the group! Then at the car wash place, the people hit the trailer, bending one of the rims. Mike tried to hammer it out, and Kennedy did too, fixing it.

The Return Home: Utter Disaster

After the show late Sunday night, David almost could have gotten a DUI. He was pulled over by an SFPD officer because the officer wanted to know what kind of car he was driving. He had drank earlier, and luckily passed the sobriety test. He was given a ticket for no plates though, and thankfully not in jail.The drive back home became a test of endurance for everybody. This was probably the worst drive back EVER from any show we've ever gone to. The plan was to head back down South by 11AM. The first problem came at 11AM, a cracked trailer. Kennedy's trailer cracked, damaging his Aristo's front bumper. Everybody pulled off and started an emergency repair session to mend the trailer, which lasted from 11AM to 3PM. After the trailer was fixed, it was time to finally hit the road again, and we hoped we would not experience any more problems on our trek back home. Then... you guessed it, more problems. At 5PM, David's Q45 linings fall down on the freeway. The linings get fixed, but it takes another hour, and we finish repairs to his Q45 at 6PM. So we hit road again, and trouble AGAIN! Anthony's Q45 struck an object, which damaged his right quarter panel, right rear door, and rear bumper. The custom VIP Modular wheels he had that were just finished also damaged too. So here comes the fun part, taking off that one right rear VIP Modular wheel, and putting the spare on. One big problem appeared, his 22'' VIP Modulars were TOO BIG for his spare! Not one mile after Anthony's blown tire incident, the trailer carrying the Widebody GS blew a tire. There was no spare for the trailer, so it was time to improvise. We jacked the Q45 onto the trailer, and put the Q45's spare on the trailer. Luckily Chris had his spare, and it fit on Anthony's Q45. This whole process took about two hours, but then it was back to hitting the road. While on the road, a bolt from the trailer hit Chris' GS' hood and A Pillar. Luckily the damage wasn't severe, so the trip back to SoCal continued. Finally after four hours, home was getting close, we were now around Lost Hills, and still continuing our journey home safely.... Until Face's CL ran into a problem with his fender cracking. After the fender incident, the havoc ended, and no one else experienced any problems, thankfully.

The trip to Wekfest took a huge toll on us physically, physically, and mentally. Thankfully everyone was able to make it home safely though. The only cars that had no problems whatsoever were three Infiniti's: Malik's Q45, PJ's G35, and Jay's G35. So now, let's total up the expenses for this trip:
Henry's GS400 Throttle Body- $1000
Davis' Tire- $200
RV Damage- $1000
David's Truck- $3000
Trailer spare- $300
Anthony's Q45- $2500
Face's windshield- $1000
Rental- $500
Show expenses- $7000
Total cost of the Wekfest SF show: ~$16,500.

Now that's what you call dedication.

So are we attending the next Wekfest? Who knows? Until Next year.... only time will tell!

So there's been lots of vandalizing going on.. It's really angering to see people keying the cars of others... These people should get their hands cut off... They have no respect at all.

So this past two weeks my Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop has been acting a bit funky.. I've found that the laptop boots up, but is super slow. It sometimes never boots up to the user screen, even after waiting 15 minutes, so I end up holding the power button, and turning it off... Other times, when I enter my password at the user screen, the welcome page appears, and stays like that forever, so again I have to manually shut down by holding the power button.. But now, most often what happens is the computer loads up fine, until all my programs and wallpaper are shown. When it shows my wallpaper , the computer takes over 15 minutes to load Mcafee and my Creative Audio Center...

I ended up doing an error check earlier and the error code 2000-0146 popped up. The code came up with this: DST Log contains previous error.

As you can see, i've got some HUGE problem on my computer.... just waiting on that blue screen of death now.

Take a look at this, Health Status: Caution. Yup, this confirms my hard drive is on the verge of death. I'm publicly logging this as proof of a crappy hard drive from Dell in my 2 1/2 year old Dell Inspiron E1705.

I don't know what to do now. I've read up, and some people have said to replace the hard drive. If I were to replace a new internal hard drive, any recommendations? I'm probably planning on getting a 320GB internal hard drive. HD must be 2.5'' SATA. Hope some of you can chime in!

Sorry guys for the long absence, School's taken a big toll on me these past few weeks. I hate group projects because people never pull their work. Pisses me off, especially since I end up doing it, to try to get the good grade. Why must people make me suffer? Bastards.... Well we can put that behind, because I'M BACK!!!!!!!

Well anyways, lots has been going on at the shop since i've been gone. It's been PACKED with cars lately, and even a loyal returning customer in Sacramento has dropped his car off at Platinum VIP!!! Quite amazing I must say!!

^ Don't copy and paste in your browser if you're squeamish.... there's my warning to you. I probably had some allergic reaction to a bug bite or something, I don't know! But I went to the doctors, and he told me to put some Polysporin on it. Wow, it really works well! Swelling went down very fast, and the redness wasn't as vibrant at the end of day one. It's been getting better every day!

Progress on that crazy Supra that was getting the Level10 transmission installed.

--And back to your regularly scheduled program--

So a while ago, Club Lexus member TongPhan was searching for air suspension, or another way to slam his car. A few nice members pointed out Platinum VIP was having a special on the Phantom Cup Kits (Thumbs up to you guys for reading!!). I caught TongPhan as he was getting ready to leave the shop. He seemed real interested in purchasing the cup kit. And a few days later, he ended up pulling the trigger! Congratulations TongPhan, and I hope you enjoy it dearly!!! Thumbs up for those beautiful HRE's you have! They compliment your car very nicely! So without further ado, here's TongPhan's GS with the Phantom Cup Kit!

I must also add, the travel on the Cup Kit with the Megan Racing coilovers on his car offer HUGE travel! This has the most travel i've seen with the Cup Kits! It looks like it can raise and drop over 4 inches! Check out the video in my previous post for reference!

..Now onto the surprise birthday present from a customer to his wife!

This VW Beetle Convertible was given to us by a customer to customize for his wife. What's the occasion you ask? It was a present for his wife! Imagine that, waking up in the morning, only to see in your garage a BRAND SPANKING NEW CAR!!!!!! In this case, a fine, brand new Volkswagen Beetle Convertible tastefully done by Platinum VIP and VIP Modular Wheels! That would be like Christmas day... except you have both Christmas on your Birthday AND Christmas on Christmas!! I'd be all giddy and excited like a schoolgirl around chocolate, haha :P

So this past Friday, August 21st, we loaded up the Beetle, and headed to Manhattan Beach, where we were going to meet the customer, and drop the car off with him. We arrived early at around 11PM, and we had prior arrangements to meet at a Starbucks around 11:30PM-12AM. We ended up taking a short trip around a few blocks sightseeing. I had never been there, but wow the beach was below us! It would have been good to take some landscape shots, but police constantly patrolled the area. It was scary :P So at Midnight, we met up with the customer, got the VW off the trailer, and handed him the keys. I really hope his wife enjoys this special birthday present!!

Sorry for the lateness, been pretty busy lately, and I've had many things going on lately. You guys probably know about the fire in Glendale earlier yesterday. I hope everyone is safe and doing fine!!!

Here's the pics I took of our excursion to San Diego and the cars. We ended up going on Saturday, and arrived in SD around 9PM. The drive was a bit scary, especially when you're driving other people's cars. We did our best to be very careful in driving our friends cars. Kennedy drove the RV, Mike drove Javi's GS, Henry drove Kennedy's Aristo (Might I add that it doesn't have AC :P), and I drove Jay's 300C (Jay calls it the death trap), and Ed drove Keith's 6 Series. It took us around 3 hours to drive, and we were turning heads everywhere... we managed to almost cause a few near-accidents because of drivers not paying attention to the road!! We stayed over, heading into the roll in on Sunday. The show was alright, and the trip hope was crazy too! The RV actually left us in the dust, and arrived back BEFORE our cars did! We probably hit 70-75 max on both trips, back and fourth. Braking hard and rubbing over the horrible roads made us cringe! And I must mention, when you run super negative camber and drive on the 60fwy, around the Rowland Heights area, it's scary as balls! In the 300C, when I was going straight, the car would randomly pull to the left or right real hard... I thought I popped a tire or something, but it turned out to be the horrible roads. It gave me a pretty good scare, but when we got to the shop, all was well, besides rub marks on the rear wheels :/ ... but it couldn't be helped. We did try our best though, and we made it back home in one piece, and relieved! I felt a huge weight come off my shoulders as we returned back to the shop. The 300C is going under the knife again now, and I'll be showing you its progress these next two days! I think you will be quite surprised with what's coming!!

Anyways.....
Horray, i'm not sunburned anymore!! I actually didn't really get sunburned in San Diego. I was sunburned at the shop when we were preparing for the excursion to San Diego!! I did my best to stay away from the sun during the show, so I took a nap in the RV, and put sunblock before I left to take photos. No, I didn't cover the event though, sorry!! I did get a few pictures of Jenny Chu, Sophia Lin, Desiree Vidal, and a few other models though!!

IF YOU PUT ON SUNBLOCK..... NEVER put it close to your eye. I actually got sunblock in my eyes, and it took about 3 hours to come out... and I flushed my eyes many times, and it didn't help!!!

The drive back was interesting, and the RV made it back to the area before our cars did!!! Lots of great experiences and fun hanging out and taking pictures of models.

Jarasa's car is getting completely gutted, as you can see here!

It's super hot these days, and I really don't like it!!!! Try to stay indoors and in a cool environment!!!! I wish it was fall or winter already... cold weather is perfect!!

Special note worth mentioning:
John Jarasa- Thanks so much for letting me borrow these two lenses!!! I really appreciate it! It feels good to be able to use my DSLR again! I really thought I wouldn't be able to use my DSLR until my lens was repaired.

Here's some of my first shots with Jarasa's Canon 16-35 F2.8! I really do like this lens!!

We slapped the kit on today for fitting, and here's what it looks like on the car!

This was my first ever attempt at a panoramic shot... think it's okay!! I'm still learning!!

Sooo... I got owned today.... and a few suprises today!

Yesterday was a very interesting day! Hummmmm where do I start.....

John Jarasa's suprise arrived!!! The first ever to reach American shores! So, you may be asking....what is it? TELL ME NOWWWW!!! I DEMAND NOWW!!!!! Be patient, and calm yourselves down..... Then take a look at these pics :)

Jay's 300C showed up with a surprise too! See if you can guess what it is! If you can, you get a cookie.

We ended the day with stretching tires and having fun with the cheetah tire bead seater. This is when I got owned.... I wasn't ready at all!!! Thanks Kennedy X__X that was a crazy experience! Just watch, lol! Then we went outside and pranked a few people! The cheetah tire bead seater is one machine you should never mess with..... Now you see why!!!
